Naturopathic Doula
What is a Naturopathic Doula?
A Naturopathic Doula recognizes birth as a special experience that mothers will remember for the rest of their lives. The naturopathic doula understands the physical and emotional needs of a women during the birth process and assists the woman in preparing and planning for birth. The naturopathic doula may stay with the woman throughout labour and/or later check in with families during the postpartum period.

Provides emotional support and physical comfort measures to the mother in labour.
Provides an objective viewpoint, educational resources and helps ensure families get the information they need to make informed decisions throughout pregnancy & labour.
Facilitates communication between the labouring woman, her partner and her clinical care providers.
Perceives her role as nurturing and protecting the woman's memory of the birth experience
Allows the woman's partner to participate at his/her comfort level
