Services to better health.

  • Complementary 15 minute Consultation

If you are ready to take the next step in your health journey but are unsure if naturopathic medicine is right for you, Dr. Sarah offers a complimentary 15 minute video or phone appointment to learn more about naturopathic medicine. Please note, no specific health recommendations will be made in this appointment.

  • Initial Consultation

Dr. Sarah will focus on gathering detailed information about your current and past health history to get a better understanding of the full picture and develop an appropriate treatment protocol that is right for you. In most cases you will be given a basic treatment plan that will be further personalized in follow-up appointments based on testing results. Treatment plans will be a collaborative process and specifically designed for your health needs.

  • Follow-Up

Follow-up appointments generally range between 30-60 minutes in length. In these appointments Dr. Sarah will monitor changes to your health and modify your treatment plan accordingly. Dr. Sarah may recommend follow-up lab testing if required to reassess your health status and track your health progress.

  • Laboratory & Functional Testing

Laboratory and functional testing are valuable tools that can help diagnose what is going on in the body, help direct treatment protocols and help monitor your body’s status. In many cases, testing helps save time and money because it takes the guesswork out. Dr. Sarah may recommend specific testing if indicated. Functional Lab Testing may include a comprehensive stool testing, food sensitivity testing or a comprehensive hormone panel.

  • Dietary & Lifestyle Counselling

Specific and intentional dietary and lifestyle recommendations prescribed to help achieve a specific goal. Dietary and lifestyle recommendations will likely be a part of most treatment plans. Dr. Sarah will ensure that recommendations are practical, easy to implement, budget friendly and most importantly, will be designed to meet you where you are currently at in your health journey.

  • Botanical & Nutraceutical Supplementation

Vitamins, minerals, nutrients and/or herbs in the form of teas, tinctures and/or capsules prescribed at a therapeutic dose to help achieve a specific goal. This may help to address an underlying deficiency, better support the body’s unique ability to heal or help support the body function optimally.

  • Acupuncture

Acupuncture involves the insertion of extremely fine needles into the skin at specific points. Acupuncture may help to stimulate the body's natural healing abilities and promote physical and emotional well-being.

Cosmetic acupuncture is a natural and effect way to help counter-act the effects of aging on the skin. It involves the insertion of very small needles into the skin in specific locations.
Facial Rejuvenation & cosmetic acupuncture may help:
  • Stimulate collagen and elastin
  • Activate and tonify facial muscles
  • Minimize fine lines, frown lines and wrinkles
  • Improve skin tone and brightness
  • Stimulate circulation and lymphatic drainage
  • Reduce tension in the jaw and facial muscles
  • Smooth the appearance of acne scarring and hyperpigmentation
At your initial assessment, an individualized treatment plan will be created to address your specific cosmetic needs. Dr. Sarah, ND uses a holistic approach to health and cosmetics therefore, she may gather a more detailed health history at your first appointment to get a better sense of your physical health and how it may be contributing to your complexion.
Cosmetic acupuncture treatments may be optimized with a Gua Sha technique. This involves using a jade or rose quartz stone tool which slides across the skin to relax facial muscles, increase blood flow, stimulate lymphatic drainage and help to release toxins.

Facial Rejuvenation & Cosmetic Acupuncture

  • Results improve with frequent treatments. Effects are typically noticed after 6-8 treatments. A minimum of 10 treatments over 6-8 weeks are recommended. Following this, maintenance treatments are recommended every 2-3 months.

  • Pain is minimal, but you will feel a “pricking” sensation at the time of needle insertion. Although it is very unlikely to occur, there is a slight risk of superficial bruising that typically resolves within a few days, as with any needling. A roller may be used to cool and relax the skin after treatment, as well as help reduce any redness that may occur.

  • If you have had botox or fillers you need to wait 6 weeks before receiving cosmetic acupuncture.
